Casual TV

I program mostly on laptops. God knows i love to program on my couch. Sometimes I get bored of my music collection and require something different. That's when I turn on the tv. Sometimes I get too caught up in a television program or movie that I don't end up working as hard as I should do. Even worse, the program gets me so dis-interested that I fall asleep. So it is always a struggle to find the perfect tv program that I can work to and have it not consume my whole attention. The search is now over, I have found the perfect series of movies that I can watch over and over again that do not require a constant attention throughout. The winner is: any Steven Seagel film.

30 Rock Lovin'

I am here to say that I officially love 30 Rock. With a scene like this who wouldn't love 30 Rock?

CSI Season Finale: WTF

Did anyone see CSI Season Finale? WTF

The Shield

After watching so many episodes of TRS and hear Jeff talk about how The Shield is the best TV show ever, I finally gave it a try and put it on my netflix queue. I am through disk 2 and I am officially hooked on the show. The lead character isn't a one dimensional Jack Bauer always with his back pushed against the wall. Detective Vic Mackey is a complicated character that has depth. I know I have just started, but I am very excited to continue watching the show.

Avatar: The Last Air Bender

One day I am cruising around on netflix streaming when I come across Avatar: The Last Airbender. I vaguely remember someone saying somewhere that maybe this show was somewhat decent. So under the premise of my foggy memory, I go ahead and add the first season to my queue. On a very lazy and un-eventful saturday, I casually watched a couple of episodes. Before you know it, I was torrenting the remaining two seasons. I would watch a 1/2 season pers a sitting. After finishing the whole series, I am ready to present my thoughts on this show.

Let's start off with the obvious, this is a kids show. There's no way around that. There is no gory deaths or anything to that sorts. They keep things on a PG rated scale. Even though this is true, the action sequences are intense as they are ever going to get for any PG rated anything. I was on the edge of my seat at the amazingness they were able to accomplish without any cartoon blood being spilled.

The writers of the show were able to create an immersive world that I was able to get sucked into the world that was created. The only fictional world I was able to get sucked into was the world of Harry Potter. I loved the little attention to details that the show took to accomplish this effect.

Throughout the wonderful journey, I fell in love with the characters. They were all relatable, unique and charismatic. Each character was given time to grow and become in a non-Rocky type of way. I don't know if this is weird or not, but the show was extremely funny when it had to be. Does that mean I have the sense of humor of a 9 year old boy?

The one huge gripe I had with the show was the dealing of the finale of the show. The show is a PG rated show and no one was killed or hurt or anything in the finale. I wanted a very similar good but dark ending that Harry Potter had. Nothing happened and I was left very unsatisfied with the finale.

If I had watched this show when I was 10, I would have eaten this shit up. I am not 10, and I still thoroughly enjoyed the show.
